Last day of the season Saturday, September 12th

It's been a tough decision to make, but we have decided that this Saturday (9/12) will be our last day for the 2020 season. We will open at 11am, but will most likely close before 9pm, as we will probably be running out of menu items. If you plan to come down for one last visit on Saturday, be sure to show up before 7pm to guarantee we are still open, or call to check with us first.

Our employees have gone above and beyond for us this year. We would like to take this moment to thank them for sticking with us through all of the uncertainty and changes this season has brought us. Much of our staff is either already back to school, or goes back on Monday. We feel strongly that they deserve the opportunity to go into this new (and very different) school year fully focused and prepared to learn and adapt and grow, without being asked to help us out too. And our post graduate staff equally deserves the opportunity to take a break, switch gears into getting their kids ready for school, move on to their next job opportunities, or wherever this off season may take them. We are grateful for this bonus week of summer we got. We are grateful for all of YOU who supported us and stuck with us. Thank you. We hope to see you one last time before Saturday.

We are going to stay open past Labor Day!

We have decided to stay open past Labor Day this season! We are taking it one week at a time, so please check our Facebook page or website for updates, or give us a call at (518) 393-6101. We will be sure to announce our official closing day for the season as soon as we decide. Our hours of operation will remain the same for now- 11a.m. to 9p.m. daily for both food and ice cream. Twin Freez will re-open this Friday, Sept. 4th! All employees have been cleared to return to work, and the building has been thoroughly cleaned according to Dept. of Health and CDC guidelines.

Our flavors Friday will be Pistachio ice cream, Blueberry yogurt, and we are excited to announce a brand new Dole flavor: Watermelon! We will be twisting it with strawberry. Please try some and let us know what you think!

This has undoubtedly been the most difficult season we have ever experienced. We have suffered through the dust, noise and road closures involved with construction of both versions of the Western Gateway bridge. We have found our buildings nearly swallowed up by the flood waters of the Mighty Mohawk, leaving us with the massive task of cleaning and rebuilding. We have navigated our way through all sorts of smaller challenges from day to day and season to season. But this season has been the greatest challenge for us. Throughout it all, you, our loyal customers, have supported us. You have braved the driving rain and the blistering sun. You have stood outside in late March, as the icy wind freezes the tips of your noses and fingers, just to get that first Jackburger or clam fry of the new season. And you have been patient with us as we worked out the kinks in our brand new phone ordering system. From the first day of the season to the last, we appreciate each of you. Thank you for sticking with us this year.

Ice Cream building temporarily closed for quarantine

One of our employees, who worked in the ice cream building on August 16, 18, 19 and 20, later tested positive for COVID-19. After working closely with Schenectady County Public Health Services, they believe that the potential risk of exposure to customers was low, as the individual wore a mask while working, and was asymptomatic.

Members of the public who visited the ice cream building on the dates mentioned above should monitor themselves, and call their primary care provider and Schenectady County Public Health Services at (518) 386-2824, option 2, if they develop symptoms.

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our employees and customers, we have decided to close the ice cream building for deep cleaning and will continue to work closely with and follow all guidance from the County.

As soon as we have a reopening date we will post it here asap!
